In its November issue, Elle Decor features a "Pink Panther-worthy" home in Vésenaz, Switzerland, that may be strangest interior the magazine has ever explored. It's the abode of Emanuele Filiberto di Savoia, a member of Italy's former royal family (Grandpa was Italy's last king), and not, as the living room decor may suggest, part of a family of well-to-do mermaids. His home is a castle bursting with custom furniture—that semi-circular seashell couch is a show-stopper—long-forgotten surface materials, and a noticeable dearth of definable shapes (his mother "hates corners.") The home's original '70s-era swank—which is fairly reminiscent of Dick Clark's Flintstones-esque palace—is anything but subtle. From an enthusiastic dedication to geometry in the very blue master suite to the spring-green cabinetry and pale-lime terra-cotta tiles in the kitchen to the mirrored ceiling in the dining room, the entire place melds the very best of over-the-top disco-era decor with random bits of old-world decadence. It's—well, it's something, that's for sure. One must behold it to believe it, so flip through the gallery above.
