Curbed DC recently spoke with architect Michael Graves about his work designing homes for handicapped veterans. Graves, who became partially paralyzed in 2003, requires his team to live in a wheelchair for a few weeks to get a feel for what it's like maneuvering through a house or hospital: "It should be common knowledge but it isn't."
