Photos by Sarah Firshein Dyker Heights, Brooklyn, is located in the southwest tip of the borough, not far from the Verrazano Bridge leading to Staten Island. Two years ago, the local blog Fucked in Park Slope called the largely residential neighborhood "basically the ingrown hair turned pimple that sits right on the bottom of the ass cheek that is Bay Ridge" and noted that "the only thing that this neighborhood has going for it is the elaborate (and ridiculous) Christmas lights extravaganza every December. There is absolutely nothing going on here the other 345 days of the year."
In that case, welcome to prime time! As in years past, one jaw-dropping Dyker Heights mansion after another is festooned with 20-foot-tall santas, bloated nativity scenes, meticulously lit topiaries, and armies of Nutcrackers that make all other Christmas armies look scant. Have a look above.
