Architectural Craziness: Korean Hotel is Way Excited About This Cantilevering Thing Jan 22nd 2013, 21:15 Photo via Architizer The latest installment of strange architecture in South Korea: a concrete beach hotel on Geoje Island that boasts a near-incomprehensible quantity of cantilevered balconies. Aggrenad Hotel, designed by the Seoul-based firm AND Architecture, features just five rooms, each with a spike of concrete patio, making the building look a bit like a brutalist, asymmetric—perhaps that's the style now?—Barbie beach house. DesignBoom describes the concrete, vaguely jumbled-looking terraces as "fingers that point out in different directions towards each of the surrounding islands," which actually sounds quite poetic.
