House of the Day: Trump-Tower Condo Has Fanciest Home Gym of All Time

Have a nomination for a jaw-dropping listing that would make a mighty fine House of the Day? Get thee to the tipline and send us your suggestions. We'd love to see what you've got.

Location: New York, N.Y.
Price: $75,000,000
The Skinny: This triplex condo, formed by combining six units into one 11,000-square-foot robotic assassin, is found in The Heritage at Trump Place, a residential building on Manhattan's Upper West Side. With views of the Hudson River and Riverside Park, "virtually endless amount of large-scale Italian marble," a 60-foot-long carpet, a 103" plasma TV, Creston technology that controls pretty much everything remotely, built-in fish tanks, a cigar room, Baccarat chandeliers, safe rooms, and a gym that appears to have Macassar-ebony walls, the unit, which comes fully furnished, definitely has a lot to offer. It's the precise location that qualifies the price tag, $75M, as too high, though: it's perched at the far-west edge of West 71st Street in a strange, sterile, distant community of luxury high-rises, many bearing the Trump name. "There just isn't anything out there to make it a real neighborhood," pointed out one Curbed NY commenter when the property first hit the market, right after Labor Day. Chimed in another: "I doubt anyone will pay more than $45 million to live all the way out on Riverside Boulevard and 71st Street." Let's be real, though: there's a sushi bar and Steinway grand piano, so the home is clearly outfitted so the next owner never actually has to go anywhere.
