When not dreaming up renderings for the world's up-and-coming fleet of space-age, swoop-tastic buildings, starchitect and Glamour Woman of the Year Zaha Hadid keeps busy with a myriad of non-architecture design projects: Donna Karan perfume bottles, chrome Fabergé eggs, and Lacoste shoes included. And here's another: a $160K acrylic/resin dining table, which has been nominated in the furniture segment of the London Design Museum's 2013 Design of the Year Awards.

Each surface of the Liquid Glacial Table's four parts is hand crafted to look like cloudless water, rippled by wind and slurping to the floor. "The elementary geometry of the flat table top appears transformed from static to fluid by the subtle waves and ripples evidenced below the surface," a spokesperson tells Co.Design. So what is this pricey table up against in this year's awards? Well, the chunky, recycled Well Proven chair by James Shaw and Marjan van Aubel, for one; the project, made of repurposed wood shavings, has an entirely different feel that the slick Hadid design, but is intriguing and beautiful nonetheless. Anyway, more photos of the Liquid Glacial Table, below.
