Artistry: With Photo Wizardry, Artist Makes City Blight Disappear Feb 8th 2013, 16:15 Photo via Co.Exist While some urban artists transform odd, ugly bits of city life into tiny apartment lookalikes, Dutch designer Roeland Otten has discovered a way to make things like electrical boxes and concrete power stations disappear entirely. His camouflage technique? Pasting ultra high-res photos of the architecture behind the eyesore onto aluminum boxes. Each trompe l'oeil project is coated in anti-graffiti paint, and despite four years of weather wear and attempts at tagging, the giant images have held up—though the effect probably loses some of its magic in the winter.
