Rendering Reveals: This Crazy Glowing Horseshoe is Actually a Sheraton Hotel

As part of its 2013 quest for world domination expansion plans, Sheraton will open 15 hotels across China, including this, the Sheraton Huzhou Hot Spring Resort in Zhejiang Province. It should come as no surprise that the curved hotel, which was just completed, is the brainchild of MAD Architects, a Beijing-based firm that truly lives up to its moniker: they've proposed everything from vertical urban "forests" to Chinatowns floating hundreds of feet above the ground. While not a full ring, as has been the shape of other ambitious Chinese projects, the new $1.5B Sheraton appears to rise from Lake Taihu like a massive, LED-lit arch. Another look, below.
